It is so good to meditate upon the Word of God, and I thank the Lord that we have the Bible so readily available. Here is a great passage of scripture from the Gospel of Luke!
And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:36-47)
When the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead, and appeared to His disciples they were absolutely terrified, believing that they had seen a spirit [Ghost]. The followers of Jesus Christ were very troubled when they saw Him and the Lord knew that, and that is why he showed them His hands and His feet. This was the same Jesus Christ who was butchered upon the cross and now He was standing before them. Just a little while before they saw Him, they were a hopeless bunch, wondering what had happened, and in grief over the death of Jesus on the cross.
This was truly an awesome moment in time, as the disciples went from the dark pit of despair to absolute exhuberance. The Lord wanted to comfort their hearts and so he requested something to eat, and He ate the food before them. The Lord made a point of showing His followers that the very same person, and body, that went to the cross, was standing before them. Jesus told them that a ‘ …. spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have…’
Why is it important for us to grasp what Christ was saying? Because His absolute wonderful victory over death was done for us human beings. Jesus Christ went to that BLOODY cross to pay sin’s death penalty for us, and He rose again just as He said He would! There is great hope for the believers in Jesus Christ.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste DEATH for every man. (Hebrews 2:9)
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through DEATH he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the DEVIL; (Hebrews 2:14)
There are many cults and
FALSE religious systems, who deny the deity of
Jesus Christ, and they deny that He rose in a body of flesh and
bones, but the scriptures tell us otherwise. The Lord Jesus
Christ then told His disciples that it was necessary for Him to
suffer the way He did, in order to fulfill the scriptures. The
Lord mentioned the Law of Moses, the prophets and the Psalms and
He was speaking about the Word of God.
The Lord Jesus Christ then opened the understanding of His
followers so that they would see that the scriptures indeed
prophesied of the things which happened including His death on
the cross. [Isaiah
53:1-12] Folks it is all about the
BLOOD, the
BLOOD, the
BLOOD of Jesus
Christ. The cross was a great VICTORY!
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his BLOOD, we shall be SAVED FROM WRATH through him. (Romans 5:8-9)
Folks, I do not care
who you are. That BLOOD was shed for
YOU too! There is
enough POWER
in the BLOOD of
Jesus Christ to set you free from depression, oppression, and
demon possession. Call upon the Lord because He is the one who
WILL set you
FREE!
Folks listen to me here. Call upon the Lord
while there is still time to do it, and He will shew you great
mercy. Folks I am telling you that the Lord is willing to show
you great mercy and loving kindness if you would turn to Him in
sincerity and truth.
Folks the whole point in Jesus Christ coming to this earth
was to save us from our sins. He went to that cross because of
the SIN
problem.
There is no other way to be saved except through Jesus
Christ.
The Lord told His followers to begin preaching at Jerusalem and
that is exactly what happened.
The Gospel message has been preached for close to 2000 years now,
and many have been saved over the centuries.
Yes there have always been mockers, and scoffers, and atheists
but that means nothing in the sight of God. Absolutely nothing.
The invitation to salvation is still open to the whole world, no
matter where a person may live. Jesus said this:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
Those are the words of the creator of ALL things! [Isaiah 44:24, John
1:1-3] and He means what He says, and He
says what He means!
What will YOU do with this
person called Jesus Christ?
For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not
condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son
of God. (John 3:16-18)
In the span of three verses the Lord Jesus Christ tells us
that God’s love was so great toward mankind, that He gave
His only Son, offering eternal life to the believers. The Lord
made it clear that His mission was not to condemn the world but
to SAVE the
world. But the Lord did not mince words, nor did He
sugarcoat the Gospel, because He went on to tell the people that
those who did not believe were already condemned.
He that
believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on
him. (John 3:36)
I am ALPHA and OMEGA, the beginning and
the ending, saith the LORD, which is, and which was, and which is
to come, the ALMIGHTY. (Revelation
1:8)
Who is this Alpha and Omega? The scripture tells us that
it is the LORD, and this scripture also describes Him as the
ALMIGHTY!
I was in the Spirit on
the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a
trumpet, Saying, I am ALPHA and
OMEGA, the FIRST and the LAST:
and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven
churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and
unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto
Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (Revelation 1:10-11)
We can conclude through the
scripture verse above that the Alpha and Omega is also the First
and the Last.
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as
dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear
not; I am the FIRST and
the LAST I am he that
LIVETH and was DEAD; and, behold, I am ALIVE FOR EVERMORE, Amen; and have the keys of
HELL and of DEATH. (Revelation
1:17-18)
We can also conclude that the First and the Last was
alive at one time, then was DEAD but
is now ALIVE again for
evermore.
And
unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith
the FIRST and
the LAST, which was
DEAD, and is ALIVE; (Revelation
2:8)
The scripture above confirms Revelation 1:17-18 in showing us that the First and the Last was DEAD but is now ALIVE!
And, behold, I come quickly; and my
reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall
be. I am ALPHA and OMEGA, the beginning and the end, the
FIRST and the LAST. (Revelation
22:12-13)
The scripture above tells us that the Alpha and Omega is also called the Beginning and the Ending, and the First and the Last, which confirms Revelation 1:8. It also tells us that He is coming again to judge mankind.
In the Old Testament book of Isaiah we find some more information about the First and the Last:
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the FIRST, and I am the LAST; and beside me THERE IS NO GOD. (Isaiah 44:6)
The verse above tells us that the King of Israel, is
the REDEEMER of ISRAEL, and is also
the First and the Last. The verse
also tells that there is NO GOD
beside Him.
Folks these are some HEAVY DUTY scripture verses, are
they not?
There
is absolutely no question as to who these scripture verses are
describing, and that is the person of Jesus Christ. A
person can CHOOSE to reject the counsel of GOD that is found in
the scriptures, BUT it will be at their own peril. The verses
make it clear that this same person will be the ONE who will
JUDGE all mankind.
The question remains. What will YOU do with Jesus Christ?
There is NO such thing as a neutral position with Jesus Christ.
A neutral is a NO in the sight of God.
In fact the LORD said that He would spue [vomit] the lukewarm out of His mouth. [Revelation 3:16]
I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the ROOT and the OFFSPRING OF DAVID, and the bright and morning star. And the SPIRIT and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life FREELY. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, GOD shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part out of the BOOK OF LIFE, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, SURELY I COME QUICKLY. AMEN. Even so, come, LORD JESUS. The grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you all. Amen. (Revelation 22:16-21)
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH JESUS CHRIST?
